Nice ~$50(-80) Keyboards?

SolarpandaS

One of my teachers is letting me bring my desktop to school for a little project we're doing, and he decided he'd buy a new keyboard. He asked for a price point, so I told him $50 (+-$10) (and possibly up to 80?). Any suggestions? There are a few requirements though, it has to be mostly quiet, so no clicky keyswitches, and I would PREFER a numpad, but it's not necessary. It doesn't have to be recent, as long as we can buy it new.

I mean any cheap membrane keyboard will do, unless you there is a deal on silent switches for your price range (which I do doubt)

too bad it's clicky... so what are some trustable (maybe non-trustable is the better question) companies for keyboards? I've never heard of this company. @wrathoftheturkey @xephoneration

you haven't heard of Rosewill?

I'd recommend something from Cooler Master, Logitech or Corsair but they're just a bit out of budget (like 20 bucks more for a solid mech keyboard)

Clicky? They're reds, they aren't very loud.

updated the title, does it work now

for mech keys depends who made them. looks like they made them, so Idk because I dont have experience with that brand.

Funny story, I have these rubber bands from my braces that might work as sound dampeners, does anyone advise against this

I've heard really good things about the STRAFE and really bad things about quality control and warranty on Razer's peripherals in general. Plus Razer has their own take on mech keyboards, I'm personally more comfortable with the MX standard.

yeah, but the razer has an audio passthrough as well... I kinda want one of those :/

it has a better wrist rest and the passthroughs are on the side where they will be more useful anyways...

i think ill go with the corsair though, it has better backlights that fit my scheme and the passthough on the back wont affect my mouse as much.
