Upgraded CPU not "recognized" by some programs

This isn't a compatibility problem or hardware problem so much as a minor software annoyance. I recently upgraded two systems CPUs. One an i7-4770s to an i7-4790s (mostly so I could give the 4770s to a friend), and another from an i3-4130t to a Xeon E3-1275L V3. The latter was a great find on eBay (got it for same price as the i3!). Everything is working fine. Windows doesn't care about the CPU swap, everything shows up fine in Device Manager and Control Panel > System. BIOS recognizes correct CPU model too. CPU-Z recognizes them. However, some applications such as HWMonitor, 3D Mark, and some others I can't think of right now (most benchmarking applications) can't identify the new CPUs. For both PC's they just show up as "Intel i7" in the above mentioned programs. Whereas before they listed the full CPU model. 3D Mark actually says "CPU not recognized" and won't validate my score. I tried reinstalling the programs, however the unrecognized cpu issue persists. Therefore I assume the one thing that is constant is the OS? Is there some system file documenting the hardware, generated when Windows was first installed, that doesn't get reset with a new CPU? Is there a way to get Windows to fully  "recognize" the new hardware? That is, other than reinstalling Windows, haha, I don't have time for that right now.

It is. Both CPUs are recognized in BIOS. Both boards are running the most up to date bios. Like I said, Windows sees the correct hardware. Some programs can't though. I guess I could clear CMOS just to be sure?

What program isn't detecting the new CPU? If it's the benchmark program, I wouldn't worry too much.

3D Mark and HW Monitor. Like I said, its a minor complaint. I'm more curious than anything as to why the programs can't see the new hardware.

Yes, both are running the F6 bios from Gigabyte specifically for Haswell Refresh.

 

I think it's some tiny system file (that these programs read from, I doubt they read it from bios) that only gets written to at the time of windows installation that isn't rewritten when new hardware is added.

try reinstalling the programs? possible they kept the old system cashed and they just haven't updated.
