I recently got the CXM but am returning it due to its strange buzzing noise and loud operation. It may just be bad luck with the unit but.. Wondering if it's worth using a Supernova G2 550W in such a budget system; i3-4130 and RX 470/80 to be? I seriously am having a hard time picking a good, reasonably quiet PSU and on a budget of €55 I've decided I can overshoot that and maybe go with €70-80 after the purchase I made was certainly not worth it. Any recommendations? Big fan of the people on here and you've all been a great help. Know more about power supplies than I ever have.., not a good thing cause now its difficult to choose one...

Going a bit higher is actually not that bad of an idea as you may want to upgrade in the near future. An i5 and RX 4XX will need a bit more power and a new PSU is worth it because you get the overhead and you're buying a new PSU anyways, so why not get a better one.

Yeah that psu is a great choice, I have a 650w unit in mine and it's dead silent when the fan is off (which it always is), and even when the fan is on, everything else will be louder.

Though, if you ever want to crossfire, then you would want to go with an 850w or somewhere around there.

A G2 should do you nicely. Go for it, but maybe RMA your CXM first?

Oh definitely. I can actually return it to the Amazon as its been buzzing and I've only had it in the system a day.. Thank you for the speedy replies, it will limit me to an RX 470 purchase however, but all I want is 1080p/60fps anyway. Thanks again.

You may be able to get a used 290 or 970 for the same or less. I got my GTX 970 used for $150 which is less than a 470.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Wish I could have been looking at them, but the postage to Ireland is an extra €23 which could get me the fully modular Evga.
