can you game on linux??

hi, I have very little experience with Linux (by very little I mean none) and I was wondering if you can game on linux

You are VERY limited, so i'd suggest getting wine. It basically is used to mimic windows and allows you to download some games that can not normally be played on windows, just make sure to use wine to download the important windows drivers.

Yes, however not all windows games are compatible and gpu drivers are usually worse, so your performance could be lower.

go to steam. search for games. click the steam play or steam os filter. these are the games available on linux

Go to Steam, filter games by OS and see. There are currently a little over 2000 games available.

Most decent indie games nowadays get a port and certain genres get more love than others. Strategy games ( like Civilization, Paradox's grand strategies) are a good example. Valve's whole catalog has been ported and I quite like War Thunder.

Personally I'm satisfied with the choice available in that there is a large number ( speaking in absolute, not relative terms) of good games to play, but if you are the kind of gamer who frequently buys new AAA releases, you're likely to be disappointed.
