It's your choice then whether you want to go AMD or intel;  I'd say wait for AMD if you're going to be doing more than just gaming.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wait if you can wait and dont wait if you really want to upgrade now. There probably wont be much performance difference anyway. Regarding core count and pricing.. we dont know.

This guy just spammed the boards with theoretical AMD builds. Seems like a troll of some kind.

It depends on your budget, uses and patience. The thing is that we don't know the official RRP of the upcoming (AMD Zen) Summit-Ridge processors. However, we can assume that there will be a 4-core processor priced similar to an i5, and an 8-core processor priced similar to an i7. The main differences are that of course they have different architectures, but they will have unlocked multipliers (so you can overclock all of the zen processors) and they will have simultaneous multi-threading, which means the 4-core 8-threaded processor will actually be more similar to a Haswell i7 (since the 40% more IPC results to haswell-like performance),

In the end, it's your decision and as with every electronic good, you have to decide whether you will buy it now, or wait a little longer for a better deal.

But I read the probability of the price of zen amd cpu would be 10% cheaper than core i7
