Posted November 6, 2016 The phone has been identified as a Dell "mini-tablet" with phone features apparently Quote It seems some-one did not think this was a complete fantasy, as Brad Sams from Thurrott.com has revealed the above device, leaked by Evan Blass, was an early Dell prototype of full Windows 10 running in a smartphone form factor, but with cellular connectivity, and that it would have used an early version of Continuum for Phones and a lap dock to enable full functionality. As for the whole "Laptop CPU" thing Quote He reports the device was killed when Intel dropped its low-end Atom range but that we may see the idea resurrected with the much vaunted Surface Phone. Quote As for the reasons why the phone was abandoned, very little is known so far, but it’s believed that bringing an Intel chip on phones is still a big challenge that manufacturers are yet to deal with. Cooling an Intel CPU without a fan in such a small body is still super difficult, while offering decent battery life continues to be impossible, especially if the end goal is to run desktop applications.
