Hey guys.

My friend's console finally broke and I convinced him to come to the light side and become a PC gamer. He has $1000 to spends. Here's a bit more info

Location: US

Store: Newegg, Amazon, NCIX

Purpose: Pure Gaming and Homework

Minecraft with 512X texture( He saw me using them) Planetside 2, Starcraft, Waiting for Star Citizen, Crysis 3, ECT... Dolphin Enulator( He has the games, he can dump them to his pc using my Wii)

Peripherals: None

OS: No need for one

If its possible, could you include the new 290 or 290X. I want to show him what a real video game is supposed to look like :)

Thanks in advance.

If you have questions, please ask.

P.S I only ask that you get a elegant case like Arc Midi R2

What if I told you...

He already has a cheap PC, peripherals, and a monitor...

He has a old HP PC with a 1080p monitor. His bro can get him a copy of windows too.

And I don't know about using his controller.

Thanks. Surprised you can fit Intel Parts into it.

Last time I checked, Planetside 2 had terrible cpu optimization and needed fast single cores to run well--not sure about the case now. I would go 8320 if possible but I'm not sure about any updates on how the game worked.

spend the extra, EVERYONE asks for a $1000 build and this^ is always the best all round option, you wont need to upgrade the ssd, the storage, the board, or anything else, the 7950 is withing 5% of the 7970/r9-280x but costs 25% less.
spend less and your screwing yourself over, spend more and your paying more than its worth.

overclockable 8 core.....good cooler....top of the line 990fx board in black.....top spec graphics card (near as makes no difference), 8gb of ram....250gb samsung evo ssd (better write performance than a 128gb), 3terabytes of storage (should last a while), high end, efficient and fully modular corsair psu, a full size and well regarded case (unlike the r2 midi whicfh is nice but in a cheaper bracket). its what id buy if i had the cash.

google linustechtips with and amd build and you will often find this setup.

No, it's for a friend. His console broke and I convinced him to try PC gaming. I was waiting for the 290 X benchmarks to ask for a build.

Don't go amd dolphin struggles with anything not intel

I was worried about that too. I've heard Dolphin prefers stronger cores over a bit weaker but more cores. I think I will go with the Intel build.
