I posted on a youtube video, but I thought posting here could get this to Linus Media quicker.

I have been researching a home server that alleviated a problem that has been mentioned many times on LTT; portable AAA gaming. My answer, a home server with laptop thin clients. I think this could be a great idea for a video since the idea has not been greatly explored and is also rather labor intensive. I don't have too much figured out at this point, but if LTT could help me through this project I would owe them greatly! (I will pay in views)

As @Electronics Wizardy Said latency is the issue.

You can easily test latency if you have a laptop and a desktop both running steam.

Try steam in-home streaming over a wireless, and wired connection. You can turn on the graph on the client and see the latency times.

Even with a wired connection there is still latency issues, and can cause fast paced games like csgo to be near unplayable for some people. Over wireless the experience is very unstable if you don't have good wifi, and valve recommends that an ethernet connection be used for their steam link.

I saw 8 gamers one cpu. I am not looking for a $30,000 solution.

I have heard (on reddit) of people doing this. Yes steam-link will experience latency with something like this, but steam-link adds an extra layer over virtualization. With a thin client there is hardly a layer over virtualization which should, hopefully, eliminate any latency there. LTT does some cool things in their videos and they don't seem like they shy away from a challenge often. I just think this idea is worth exploring.
