Hello everyone! I will be building a PC and I wanted to know if the parts I chose will be compatable. My budget is around 950$, max 1000$. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated!

Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700

Motherboard: ASROCK H170 PRO4
HDD: WD Blue HDD 3TB 5400RPM SATA3 64MB

SSD: Samsung SSD 750 EVO 500GB SATAIII MZ

Optical Drive: LG DRW GH24NSD1 RBBB BULK

Case: THERMALTAKE VERSA H22 ATX CA-1B3-00M1WN-00

PSU: Cooler Master B500 V2 ATX 2.31 500W RS-500-ACAB-B1

Please use pcpartpicker, it'll automatically tell you if it works together or not.

As for suggestions the list seems to be void of a video card, and since you have a fairly high end CPU I'm assuming you're using it for more than just web browsing and video streaming.

well a graphics card would help quite a bit here otherwise thats pretty good, would swap PSU but thats about it

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($94.99 @ Newegg)

Higher quality PSU with semi-modular cables:

So no gaming or rendering of any sort?

if that's the case a 1060 should be the most you'd want to get for a GPU, you can also spend lower for a 1050(ti) when those come out.

this isn't required for what you're doing, but depending on what you're doing for school it may help.

I would recommend going for a 600 watt power supply.

And if you do end up getting a GPU or plan on getting one eventually then a larger power supply would be a wise decision.

A good 450W psu would be enough. Components are more power efficient nowadays that an i7 paired with low TDP GPU's like 1060/480/470 etc won't consume over 350W.
