Hello,

I might want to replace my old 40€ Casio watch for a smartwatch. It's been a few years since the first ones came out and I thought this product would have matured a little bit (plus getting cheaper). What do you guys think of smartwatches? I feel quite interested in the Samsung Gear S2 Sport, it's a year old but seems to be a great smartwatch (and the S3 seems too big and physically not as beautiful as the S2). I would use it for sport: heartbeat, chrono, but especially as music player to a headset through bluetooth.

Any advice about this watch, or another one?

Thanks,

it is a pretty good watch, the s3 isn't a major upgrade from a s2, just some minor tweaks and design change. so it isn't a bad choice

If those three things are what you require, then I would throw in Fitbit's Blaze in the lot. They recently updated the firmware so it basically can push all kinds of notifications. You can also control music from it. And the thing lasts for days (I've gotten a little more than five) while a lot of smart watches won't last for more than two days. The only thing it won't do is act as an input. Most other smartwatches will let you say text someone by speaking into it. The way to charge it may also be inconvenient but it doesn't bother me since I only charge it twice a week.

Thank you all. I have looked at the Fitbit Blaze and the Moto 360, and the Pebble, but there are none that appeal to me more than the Samsung Gear S2. And I'm actually looking to test the S3 Frontier; if it is not too big for my 17.5cm wrist (?), I might fall for it. I can get the S2 for 217€ but I think it's not compatible with my Moto G3 2015, and that's a bummer.

I'll wait for the release in November then I'll have to choose :). But it does look sexy...

Well I don't think any watch can compare with the scrolling bezel of the Samung Gear S2 and S3. So easy to navigate and use. The ZenWatch 2 looks terrible IMO. Maybe next year there will be competitors but for now, I think Samsung wins.
