  1. 1. Which is Better for me? ( I do light video editing and photoshop)

Hello guys, i am planning on building a budget PC. One problem I encountered is whether to choose an i3 or an i5,

I am planning on building this rig:
CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7 GHz
MOBO: Gigabyte H110M DDR4 LGA 1151 GA-H110M-DS2
RAM: AVEXIR 8GB DDR4 2400MHZ LED
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 950
SSD: ADATA 120GB SSD
HDD: WD Blue 1TB SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM
PSU: FSP Hexa 550W 80+ Certified Power Supply
CASE: Techware F3 Black/Blue Case, Window

I am currently studying web development and I also do light video editing and some photoshop.

The main reason for this build is so that I can play some games like overwatch, gta v, witcher 3,tomb raider and csgo at suitable fps, but i also want it to do well if I use it to do my work.

Do you think i should go with i3-6100 or i5 6400 or something else?

You may also recommend me to change some of the parts if you think that they are not good.

Exact budget? Maybe wait for the 1050(Ti) if that fits your budget with a i5-6400/6500?

avoid that psu, its terrible. its tier 7, so one of the worst psus out there. try to look for anything tier 3 or better ( i recommend cx 450m for a budget build).

You will want to upgrade that card very quickly, better to wait and get the 1050ti ($139 MSRP). The i3-6100 is great for gaming but lacks the ability to multitask and might show performance issues in PS. Don't get a PSU from a low tier/unknown brand, a bad PSU could ruin your entire system.

the i5 and do get a better gpu than a 950, even if you have to save an extra month or two.

That CPU only lists support up to 2133MHz memory on the specs, you might be able to save a few bucks by dropping from 2400mhz to 2100/2133mhz.

After checking, the motherboard also only supports up to 2133mhz

GTA V (and Overwatch, maybe) can use a lot of CPU power. Also, video editing can benefit from having 4 real cores (i5) instead of 2 cores + Hyperthreading (i3). So I'd recommend you get an i5-6500 (the 6500's clock speed is worth the extra cost over the 6400.)

If cost is a factor, you can get lower cost RAM (DDR4-2133 or 2400) without the fancy LEDs.

You could also leave out the SSD for now. I think you would be happier with an i5-6500 and an HDD than with an i3-6100 and an SSD.

Also, check the prices of an RX 470 or GTX-1050 versus the older GTX-950.

The power supply - I'm not familiar with that model, but the latest reviews seem favourable.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD
