Heya,

So I'm building a new office PC for my parents. They operate with AutoCAD and SketchUp (Pro, if that makes any difference). They're maximum budget is €900 (if needed) and I'm buying in Italy.

I threw this together in 5 minutes, anything I could change? I'm trying to keep a clean look without windowed panels nor lights.

I suggest you double-check if AutoCAD is heavily multi-threaded. If it isn't, an i5 will more than suffice. Also, depending on where in Italy you live, you may not need an aftermarket cooler for that CPU: the stock one will work great for you.

have you ever worked with autocad? it can get a real 8 core CPU to run at 100%

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

OP get a better PSU. That PSU you found is just a fire hazard. I would atleast get a 550w so you can add a GPU at some point if you want to. I would also get ram that runs at 2600MHz

Not required, but I would get a 400-450W PSU. Even without a GFX card or overclockable CPU it's good to have the head room, especially with them running Auto CAD which is fairly intensive.

OP doesnt needd the wattage
the i7 6700 is rated for 65watts....

and he has no intention of adding a GPU - does autocad even benefit from GPU acceleration?
also hes on a tight budget

Skylake CPUs support up to 2133MHz RAM (http://ark.intel.com/products/88196/Intel-Core-i7-6700-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_00-GHz), so there's no reason on spending more money for 2600 RAM if it'll run at 2133. (correct me if I'm wrong).

no, skylake cpu's can support somethign crazy like 3600mhz on z170 chipsets
but certain motherboards do NOT support those speeds

ex. OP's motherboard seems to be rated for 2133mhz

Thanks for the explanation.

And I don't really think that AutoCAD would benefit that much from faster RAM (again, I may be wrong).

There's no need to get Win 10 Pro. The Pro version just has some additional networking stuff that's mostly only of use to IT admins. You might be able to save a few euros by getting regular old Windows 10 Home 64-bit.

Another minor point. The i7-6700 (non-K) comes with a stock cooler. However, the TX3 is quieter and runs a bit cooler.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

yes, there is a mod to get GTX support, without that it is Quadro and FirePro only.

Right, thanks for the heads up.

I wanted to get an aftermarket cooler since they are usually quieter than the stock one, plus AutoCAD will make the CPU run at a high load (so the cooler the better).

I don't think that Hyper TX3 Evo meets the TDP standards for a high end I7 like this.. nvm it does. i have used it but the temps idk..

Are your parents really need a Quad Core with Hyperthreading? isn't that OVERKILL. NO GAMES? NO EDITING? just BARE OFFICE?

The stock cooler Can handle the 6700, so can the TX3, as it's better.

Yes they do need it, as AutoCAD is really demanding (they're not just doing spreadsheets).
