Good an cheap quads

I have found these 2 drones. They are both very good. What would you say was a better buy?

I don't think either of them are good buys. Neither are made by reputable brands and they look like toys (in which case you're probably going to use it only a handful of times because it's a novelty)

That first one looks good, but get a better video antenna. I don't like how there are only 2 bolts on each arm, but it's probably fine.

They're mini quads. They're racers and they're built to haul ass. The first one uses rs2205 motors which are really good, the standard. The only issue I have with both of them is the carbon is probably not of the best quality and might break really easily.

You may need to get new motors if the arms on the new frame are longer. Also get a better charger, more batteries, goggles, and for the love of God get a better video antenna.

Have a much better charger and was planing on getting more batteries. And getting the quantom cyclops prob

I have a question about lipos. My battery says it can charge up to 15 c. That sounds like a bad idea about to happen. I can only charge at 6 amps max though.

That means you can charge at 15 times the capacity rating. But you shouldn't charge above 1c on normal charges. So if you have a 1300mah pack, charge it at 1.3 amps. What's the discharge rating?

45c and I charge it at 1 c only

Honestly just do a scratch build off Hobbyking. You'll get way more freedom in basically everything and you gain the experience of building you're own(it's really not that hard)  Plus you can get some really bad-ass frame kits that will look SOO much better and RGB becuase why not:

Also you either need an receiver, battery and a monitor or some goggles but that's an issue even with a prebuilt

 

Then just throw in a battery, transmitter, and receiver and run the setup firmware and you're done

I agree that building is a lot better for fpv aircraft, it's like building a computer with the freedom of component choice. However, stay away from hobby king, their stuff is crap, their service is crap, and it may seem cheap, but they'll get you on shipping.

Yeah I've heard that but I've only ever had one issue with their service and it was with a 2 dollar pack of Gemfans XP Ok the shipping CAN get a bit excessive if your'e not ordering from the US warehouse.

Frankly I'm not really impressed with the quality of the products HK sells.

Yeah a lot of there stuff is relatively cheap but the Multistar and Turnigy series have never given me any problems. The HK pilot on the other hand terrifies me lol I wouldn't go within a mile of any multirotor using it as its flight comp

Eh, the 4s Turnigy Nanotech 1300mah pack is okay. I have one, my friend has four. They provide good power on his 5" QAV R, but they don't have a high enough discharge to give the power I want out of my 6" setup. I wouldn't trust their ESCs though, and I don't believe their motors are that great, although I don't know anyone who's tried them. RS2205's for me.

I can say from first hand experience that all of the multistar motors I have tried have been just fine and yeah I run afro ESCs in all of my multirotors.

Lol I have Multistar baby beasts on a racing tri that I've gone inverted with (and crashed multiple times mind you XP) so for their price they are actually pretty nice little motors.
