Best Case Fans?

I'm looking for fans for my case I'm going to buy, the Phanteks Eclipse P400S. These are the fan slots:

 

Top: 2 140mm or 2 120mm looking for 2 140mm fans

Front: 2 140mm or 3 120mm heard they're about the same, but 140mm is quieter, so looking for 2 140mm fans here

Rear: 1 120mm no choice here

 

The case comes with 2 120mm fans. Are these fans good? If so, don't include a rear fan in your comment. I don't NEED to use included fans, so it's worth getting better ones... If I end up choosing to use 3 120mm fans in the front I will probably use the two fans.

 

NOTE: ALL FANS MUST BE 3-PIN FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH THE P400S's FAN CONTROLLER.

Budget per fan? Are you prioritizing quiet over performance, or the other way around?

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Well, I want more of a balance. Don't really have a budget... I guess $25. The P400S has sound-dampening material... but I'm guessing it doesn't completely muffle noise. As long as they aren't really loud.

If you like LEDs at all, I'm a big fan of the Aerocool DS fans. If you don't like LEDs, they have a gray variant with none in it They move a ton of air quietly, and if you use the low-noise adapters that come in the package, you won't even know they're on unless they're running full-bore or you've got your head right up next to the case. They are 3-pin fans.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

I don't know if I should get LED fans or not, since I'm getting an LED strip. What do you thing?

Thre are 1 billion different fans. Impossible to say which are "best" . Just pick what fits your needs.

Yep, that's them. It's the "Low speed voltage adapter" they mention down below. Trust me, it's there. I own a few of those ;)

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Looks like the Cougar CFD14-HBs are between the Aerocool's 12V and 7V modes. Overall, they're nicer looking fans... but I might end up going with the Aerocools. Dunno.

Honestly, aside from the performance, aesthetics plays a big role in fan selection so choose. And that's completely personal. 

As for your comment, what are some good high RPM fans?

I definitely recommend the new Corsair ML (Magnetic Levitation) fans. They are expensive, but can be used as either high static pressure or high airflow fans. They can hit 2000RPM, but If you run them at about 50-60% they are completely silent too. I know Linus reviewed them recently and also liked their new design because they form a much tighter seal on radiators than the older SP fan models.

What are you getting more fans for?

Well, I'm not sure 2 fans is enough. That would be one intake one exhaust.

Fractal Vinturis are supposed to be pretty damn good, but it really depends on what you need it for.

Look nice, but the 140mm 3-pin ones are quite loud at 18 dbA on low voltage.

Unless you're running the fans at a very low speed or have very power hungry hardware, you're probably going to run into diminishing returns.

I've watched that. And... the more fans, the lower the temps. Although the data shows that 1 fan on the top is the same as 2.

You should see how your temps fare first to get a better idea if what needs improvement in cooling.
