If I am honest I would just not bother.... For a start upgrades can be impossible in most of them! They are weak at gaming! I would sell it if I am honest or save for a little while and build a cheap PC!

In more serious note you need to tell us which imac exactly because technically that one is also an imac. Maybe it is not really cost effective.

Can't be done. Sell it to someone and use the money to build a good PC, you'll still have a couple grand left over to do whatever you want with.

That's what, a $2400 Mac? for about $800-1200 you could build a PC that would blow that out of the water (6600k or 6700k, GTX 1070 or 1080). You could also go for something in the $600 range that will still outperform it by a huge margin.

You can game on it, just not at 5K!!! It won't be as good as a PC specced for gaming, but it'll run things just fine (R9 290MX GPU...). If you really want something else, selling it is a sensible option, but why did you buy an iMac in the first place when wanting to game?

Yes technically. It'd be interesting certainly. Not sure if that would work on the internal display just like that without software support, but then again, there's no reason for it not to other than Thunderbolt bandwidth (since you need to somehow get the 5K 60FPS back to the display whereas Apple's custom timing controller that runs the single-tile 5K panel would be connected internally to the R9 390MX via a notebook-like display bus).

@BubbleBoySP What is it that you do on your computer? Why did you buy this expensive machine. There certainly was a good reason for the purchase. Once we know what you do, maybe we can help you make a decision.
