The 1070 works great for 1440p. I'm running Gears of War on Ultra and getting 70fps on average.

Probably even better, it usually gets 60fps on high or even ultra. Can't think of many games that require medium.

thats why i said medium or better, deus ex being the benchmark for that.

a 1070 should get high or max settings on most games and hit 60 fps no problem
