hi, i am just wondering what does the letters behind intel processors mean? 

ex:i7-6700k, i7-6700HQ, i7-6500u, i5-6400t

K = overclockable

HQ = laptop quadcore

U = laptop low power

T = desktop low clock/power

All of this is iirc

Pretty sure that's S, T stands for "ultra low power" on the desktop.

The i3/i5/i7 stands for what # of cores and threads a CPU has(Desktop only!!!). i3- 2 cores, 4 threads, i5- 4 cores, 4 thread, i7- 4-10 cores, 8-20 threads. K/X= unlocked multiplier, T- low power, U- very low power(usage), HQ- high-end mobile. The thousand stands for generation, hundred/ten for model.

Execpt that you get to mobile i5 and realized that they are the exact same thing as i3. And mobile i7 sometimes are the same thing as desktop i5, though they might also be desktop i7 as well.
