If every action has an opposite and equal reaction would Karma be considered mathematically possible? Obviously if we are looking at this the karma that comes back at you from the reaction could be a number of things and the Karma people take about is them being self aware of a negative side effect to them.

First off, it's opposite and equal reaction. 

 

Secondly, no. I would in no way say karma is scientific. 

Newton's third law only apply to objects that have a physical interaction. Like when a fighter jet moves itself forward by pushing matter backwards. 

The law doesn't apply to two completly unrelated forces acting on the same agent. Like someone cheating on their taxes and then getting hit in the head by a falling roof tile. 

At no point did the lack of tax payments interact with the roof tile. 

 

A physical explanation of karma would also mean that we should be able to measure the energy of morals, which we, to my knowledge, aren't capable of doing.

Although, if you can make a mathematical equation for karma you would become very rich, and you probably also receive a Nobel prize.

Couldn't you just use the chemicals in your brain as things that change and are predictable enough to replicate what karma looks like internally with chemicals? That is unless the person was not conscious or made the decision without thinking

If you get that specific as to karma you also get specific enough to basically abandon free will: all you think and do can be conceivable predicted by said reactions and you have no free will whatsoever since each of those chemical reactions has a preceding reaction within the universe making everything you do pointless: the gods or "karma" punish you for something you have no control over.

 

So no, you can't be that specific with cause and effect.

Karma is an old religious concept that is part of Buddist and Hindu teachings (among others). It relates to how the actions and intentions (good or bad) throughout the life of an individual, carry over in to the next life or afterlife. It has no bearing on one moment to the next. Rebirth is central to many religions, and karma supposedly determines what happens at the end of a life cycle. The western concept of doing a good deed and gaining something positive in return, is really just a very sloppy translation of the same concept.

 

The quote - "to every action there is always opposed and equal reaction" - is taken from Newton's Third Law, which has no relation to the notion of Karma.

Well, your brain chemicals haven't been shown to have any direct effect on the world outside your own brain.

 

To take it back to my own example, the chemicals that causes a person to cheat on their taxes aren't interacting with the roof tile in any way. 

You would also have to calulate the entire concept of Saṃsāra into this. And I highly doubt that chemicals in the human brain can interact with an abstract concept of the cosmos.
