I just recieved my Sennheiser 558's from Amazon which took 3 days to get here. I have listened to one song and one song only so far but how to put it lightly. I nearly cried listening to a song that I have heard about 100 times in the past but after listening to it I nearly cried. I don't understand at all but I guess I can really here the emotions or something stupid like that. Anyway they are great.

I will probably do a full review after I have gotten used to them. probably a week or two.

and now you see why we cry as well when people buy a headset over a headphone

You know when I said I nearly cried. I think I am crying now. The song I am listening to is called " Stars of Tears" (vocals by Joanne Hogg). It's an out take from Xenogears that this version was never used so it is quite hard to find. If you do want it though I think I could email it to anyone who wants it although I am not sure if Gmail compresses it.

YouTube really needs to increase the audio quality of it's videos though. They still sound the same.

I am not sure whether to go with Hi-Fi or PCM with 7.1 Virtual Speaker and Dolby Headphone. I am using a Xonar D1.

Just made my choice I'm going for Dolby Headphone and 7.1 surround. It makes it sound like the stuff is around you.

Guys, my HD558 + FiiO E10 just arrived after 12 days :D

Will share my first impressions with/without the FiiO E10 and more once i somewhat burn them in (Casual use, a few days) if it makes a difference :)

I was curious about getting the Fiio E10. Does it really make music sound better?

Setup: i5 4670k @ 4.2 Ghz, Corsair H100i Cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Ram @ 1600 Mhz, MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard, Corsair GS700 2013 edition PSU, MSI GTX 770 Lightning, Samsung EVO 120 SSD + 2TB&1TB Seagate Barracudas, BenQ XL2411T Monitor, Sennheiser HD 598 Headphones + AntLion ModMic 4.0

First Impression over crappy headset : Blown away, FiiO E10 had no effect on me initially, but after using the HD558 for awhile whilst swapping back and forth between E10 & Motherboard i would say that the HD558 sounds slightly hollow without the E10, so +1 there :)  For me the Bass Boost is a +1. Superb!

Initially it was tight (Expected) but the earpads are definitely one of the most comfortable i've ever worn, time to use these for a few days to see how they improve!

Update: Not really used to the "lack" of bass at the moment :P I do love the change of taste though, guess this is a phenomena that occurs for people coming over from crappy over-inflated bass headsets.

Update-Update: Holy shit, after ~40 minutes of use i am actually adjusting to the much tighter bass, instead of BOOM BOOM BOOM i am appreciating the fact that i can hear and visualise some dude hitting a drum :D

Just follow this rule: NUT

NEVER USE YOUTUBE. Stick to FLAC records for dat elitism.

Enjoy those tacos now, for in 1000 years they will be illegal... eh Ha Ha Ha! I think we all know why.

I don't understand youz guyz's obsession with lossless files. For most electronic music, YouTube is just fine.

depends on the version of the file youtube plays for you.  They still throttle for us poor saps with crummy connections, don't forget.

"Pardon my French but this is just about the most ignorant blanket statement I've ever read. And though this is the internet, I'm not even exaggerating."
