Getting more ram

So I'm looking to do some upgrades to my pc, including some ram, I'm currently running on ADATA XPG V2 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1866MHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211857

on this motherboard MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z97-PC-MATE.html#hero-overview

Through the little research I've done on it, I've concluded that I need to find ram with the same latency, timings and voltage, the only option I've found is ADATA XPG V1 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1866MHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211818

I want to ask some people who know more about these things if

1. This would work

2. If there are any other options of mixing ram, or

3. If I should just upgrade to a 2x8 setup

from what i read it should work just fine. only thing to mind would be clearance with cpu cooler and what not.

Thanks, currently running stock cooler... but I am looking at getting a 212 EVO, which should have quite a bit of clearance.

looks like if you put the higher profile ones in the black slots it should work out fine. most cpu coolers don't leave alot of room for ram and if you have a problem you might have to take off the coolers but, thats a slim chance. it's the fan that get in the way, you can change it to the other side and have be pull style.

The only other thing I was able to find was the Kingston Hyperx Fury http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820104472

Which has the option to set the frequencies and timings including matching my current 10-11-10-30 as shown here http://www.overclockers.com/kingston-hyperx-fury-ddr3-1866-2x4gb-memory-kit-review/

Would there be any problems if I grabbed a set of these instead?

nope either should be find. you can change timing on all ram manually, not really recommended and it might not do much or cause instability. there will be a XMP profile in your bios that will set the speed and timing correctly with no real input other than that click from you. easy peezy
