Question about recording gameplay

So here is the idea,I have a pc that I game on and also have a laptop,the question is can I capture the gameplay with the laptop(make the laptop work elgato like)?

Recording software drops my frames a lot,but I wanna capture these nice moments.

You can buy a capture card, but id probably just use OBS and quicksync or nvec. With that there is almost no performance impact.

You can't. Capture card only. Laptop ports are out ports. Even if your laptop have TV Tuner ports or something similar that make it a monitor it will still be hard or nearly impossible

Before you go use your hard earned money on an capture card...

What recording software are you using? Maybe we can help you to fix the problem.
