Apple iPhone 5S's 720P slo-mo Video might not be 720p

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to GSMArena

Apple has been caught with their pants down on one of their many tall claims with the new Apple iPhone 5s. The flagship phone, launched back in September, was said to feature 720p slow-motion video capture at a fast 120 frames per second. After conducting their own tests, the publication confirmed that Apple is indeed cheating us consumers. While the videos itself are shot at a high 120 FPS frame rate, the video resolution is a lowly 480p. The difference in quality is very apparent, especially when you compare it with 720p and 480p upscaled to 720p footage shot using the Galaxy Note 3. - nextpowerup

So first Samsung cheats in benchmarks and now Apple cheats in video. This should ground some fanbois who don't believe that EVERY company will do ANYTHING to milk you dry.

Amen to that.

PROFILEYEAH

What do people even put in these things?

To be honest, when you're filming yourself making funny mouth shapes or filming yourself getting hit by a giant purple dildo in slowmo, you probably won't care.

Wait, what proof do they have of this? Comparing the slomo pictures from the Note 3 vs the slomo pictures of the iPhone 5S isn't really a good way to check what resolution it is. If they wanted to test it properly then they would have compared "720p slomo" vs "480p non-slomo", and both videos captured on the iPhone 5S.

Remember: Resolution != image quality.

An image can be 1080p and still look bad (just look at the garbage encodes YIFY releases), and it can be 480p and look good.
