A used GTX 970

CardinalHunter

Is a used gtx 970 still worth like $200 USD if its previous owner has been using it since the January of 2015 and only has a warranty until the January of 2018.

Not really. You can get a new RX 480 4GB for a few bucks more which has better DirectX12/Vulkan capabilities and performs slightly better in general.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

If you love to overclock I'd say that is quite a decent card to get at that price. I'd honestly get it a bit cheaper say around 180$ because at 200 you could get a new rx 480 4gb) if you can find one for a decent price because they are currently rather expensive)

I'd buy it $150 MAX. Even then I'd still pony up for something newer, but that's just me.

HA but the 970 HAS 4GB. Nice try though. I agree your other points though.

Anyways OP that's arguably the best 970 you can get. I'd say between 175-180. Maybe 160 if you push it.

First build every: Intel Core i7 4790K, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard, Kingston HyperX FURY 1866 2x8 16GB Kit, Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming, Corsair Obsidian 450D Black ATX Mid Tower, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & 3TB Toshiba HDD, EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2, Corsair H100i GTX 240mm, Gigabyte Bluetooth 4.0/Wifi Card, Logitech G700S. Running on Windows 10

Surface Pro 3: i5 4300U with 8GB of ram and 256GB SSD. Running Windows 10 Pro

Did you even read the post? 4GB of COMPLETE VRAM, not some cheap crappy 1MHz clocked 0.5

That last 0.5GB of COMPLETE VRAM is is VRAM no matter how you spin doctor it. Even more importantly it's almost impossible for the average gamer to see a hit in performance from it.
