Trouble with Shadowplay and Kraken 7.1

Alexaldin

Got this problem with Shadowplay, I tried everything for the last days, nothing worked :/ I have this problem, when I record with my Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma plugged the audio quality is low and a bit metallic, if I unplug them the audio is perfect. I post two videos, one I found on Reddit, one I made myself.

I did not changed it in Adobe Premiere, just straight from Shadowplay and added the text, stop.

Already tried turn off the startup Kraken 7.1 Chroma APO Helper, just got much lower volume but nothing changed.

I got ignored by the Nvidia support and I have no idea how to solve it, I love this headset, don't want to change it... you guys are my last resort :(

It's not the microphones, it's the headset. I do not have a different headset right now.

I wouldn't know then. I'm not too sure. It could be the wiring of the headset. Is the headset USB or 3.5mm?

USB, probably 2.0.

I read in various forum that probably is the 7.1 that bring that low audio quality, cause Shadowplay doesn't know how to handle it. Or even it's Synapse itself with his driver that make conflict with Shadowplay audio codec.

I have literally no idea, just a severe headache.

Try using your headset in stereo with and without the USB dongle.

Nope, directly USB.

That's not good. Does it occur on any other PC's? What if you disable Shadowplay and use OBS?

Have you unplugged the headset, uninstalled the Synapse, reinstalled, replugged?

Have you done the same with Shadowplay/GE?

More than likely what is happening is that Shadowplay is only taking 2 channels into your audio and Windows is actually outputting 7.1. Shadowplay has a tonne of issues around audio, from microphone getting mixed in auto into stereo alongside basic problems like handling 5.1/7.1 systems. There is a reason OBS studio is doing well right now and its all to do with audio, especially since it uses NVENC for the encoder so its overhead isn't so bad.

One thing you could try is redoing the setup on your headset to 2.0 output and then at least Shadowplay will capture the things you hear, but you will also be at the mercy of the games headphone output which more than likely is garbage.
