HDD detection problem

So i have an ASUS laptop that was dropped and the HDD appears to be in great condition except that the computer is not picking it up. Only the DVD, i will be putting the HDD in another computer to see if its the HDD but i dont believe it is. What could be causing the computer not to pick up the HDD. The computer will boot into BIOS and all the keys and the monitor and DVD drive still work so i just cant figure it out.

check the cable/port that connects to your hard drive. It may have come loose.

its a directly attached port to the motherboard and the HDD side looks fine

Its sounds most likely that the computers SATA connectors got screwed up when it was dropped!

 

 

When it boots up do you here clicking from the Hard drive at all?

Dropped the laptop yet the hard drive seems to be in great shape, I wouldn't have thought so mate
