Need some help with PWM splitter.

IcEWoLF

I bought two of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812162026 Silverstone CPF01 3.94" PWM Fan Splitter Cable

Basically the problem I have with these is when I attach two fans to the splitter, I have to fiddle with the cable to turn them on...sometimes they won't even turn on 1 of the two fans, and then sometimes if I touch the cable the fans will run at 100% and if I readjust then they will run at their intended speeds...its weird.

I think these are not good quality pwm splitters, anyone have any suggestions?

sounds like a soldering issue, can be easy to fix if you have a soldering iron.

i would go with this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812987008&cm_re=pwm_splitter-_-12-987-008-_-Product

the silverstone one looks like alot of movement can be made in two directions on that single plug,

as with this one the plug socket is heatshrunk into one cable and split into two sockets on the end.

Right, for example If I have to make any changes, I turn off the system, and make the changes, then when I turn on the system either the fan is not turning on or the fan is running at 100%, so I have to touch the cable a bit to either make the fan turn on, once it turns on the fan starts running at 100%, then I move the cable a bit and then it starts running at the speeds set in the bios...its weird that the 4 pin connector (the one that controls both fans) is the one that has that problem.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion bud, I got the splitter today and it runs so much better, the fans do not jump to 100% anymore when I start the system. So obviously Phanteks makes good quality stuff. Thank again!
