Aragon

You both suck. The phone's code-name is, like your jokes, Argon, not Aragorn or Aragon.

Don't worry about it. I nearly, erroneously, made a Three Musketeers reference but the character's name is d'Artagnan.

Now if only BB had named their new phone the d'Artagnan! That'd be classy as fuck xD

  • 5 weeks later...

Update: BlackBerry confirms the DTEK60, priced at $499 US unlocked. If you buy from ShopBlackBerry, you also get a complimentary accessory bundle, which consists of DTEK60 soft shell case and rapid charger.

The price is considerably less than what was originally rumoured. For a flagship phone with the specs it has, the phone has a lot of bang for the buck.

Can you elaborate on this? This phone is pretty much Flagship grade specs but is already cheaper than flagship offerings from LG, Samsung, etc.

personally I'm deeply in love with BB, but i'm also super pisssed at them at the same time

Me too. I've had BlackBerries since 2007. I can't type on a screen for shit, and the Priv is a great phone. Although Verizon is killing the updates. I haven't been able to get any of the Marshmallow builds because of Big Red. Still on June security update for Android. Verizon is the worst when it comes to keeping your OS up to date. I'd switch to AT&T, but their service where I live isn't the best and my bill with Verizon is pretty cheap since I've been with them for my cell phone carrying life. It's been frustrating watching them slowly circle the drain; so many missed opportunities and poor marketing/engineering decisions. But they do make a great phone, it does everything I need, and if the day comes when there are zero physical keyboard devices, I may go back to a dumbphone.

While similar, the OnePlus 3 has lower specs in several categories:

Lower resolution (1080p vs 1440p)

Lower resolution camera (16mp vs 21mp) - though we'd need to see comprehensive comparisons to see how different it is

Single flash (vs dual LED)

lack of expandable memory - though the OP3 has more base memory, so this is just a matter of preference

There's also the non-tangible benefits of the increased "Blackberry security" features.

So, while these differences may be unimportant to some, to others, it justifies the $100 higher cost.
