i5 4690k question

I have an opportunity to get a i5 4690k for £50!! (Kinda lying ) I have to swap my 4670k and give him £50. 

 

I don't see the point in upgrading to skylake (Or what ever is the best) I would upgrade in a year or 2 

 

So is it worth it for basically £50?

Could be, or the chip your getting is damaged, or he O/C'd it too much and heated the chip up.

I wouldnt risk it.

He is selling it for £150 but he would take my chip plus cash. (He said he wants to sell his system as a whole. he would do this swap. asking him for live benchmarks etc etc

Why would somebody downgrade a chip for £50? I don't see the logic in this.

You got no idea what he did to that overclocked chip.

That chip could have ran hot for who knows how long, damaging the chip you are trading.

Unless it oc's much better, it's not worth it. 

There's no difference asides from that.

Eh depends how well does your chip OC since to my knowledge the only difference is thermals, so I say no

If they are trying to sell their chip for £150, and they can instead swap it for a similar chip and £50, then sell the other chip for £150. Then profit.

They need 50 quid and it's really more of a side grade

4690K is part of "Devils Canon" which has better thermals for more overclocking potential vs Haswell and at less volts. It is a downgrade in my eyes. However the OP says the guy is trying to sell his system so I have no clue why he doesn't just keep his CPU.
