I notice that some videos on gaming, the increase in mod's to FPS isnt really dramatic.

It would be nice to have a range to shoot for in certain games.

Whatever the "hard" games are in terms of FPS, I guess its like Crysis and Far Cry and such.

Does it really matter whether you get 45FPS or 75FPS?

Explain "Mods to FPS"

You mean the MODS that give higher FPS by removing/tweaking things to be easier to run?

This is good though, for those without hardware that can play it fluently...

If your watching "FPS Balllers" then just stop watching it if it bothers you.

However...People have different tastes... in all things....so ignore them if you don't want to hear it... or listen, and move on.

It's no big deal.

I've lately been using my GTX970 for 2880x1620p and also 3840x2160p in games.

My FPS is lower obviously,(always above 30) but the image quality is way better than 1080p, and I can be happy with my choices...

Seems your upset over...nothing really... something that is subjectively different to each individual.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I personally don't like to run below 45, but at 4k, I'm not sure I would mind. Some games suffer more that others though. I can't play first person shooters below about 50 without being awful. Also, as a resident of the UK, what does "baller" actually mean?

It actually does if care that your game runs smoother. Comming off of an xb1 I can tell a huge difference. First game I played was wow and averaging 190 fps is like eye candy

I get what you mean, difference = difference.

Thats not what he is saying tho..I think...

OP translated into my mind - He's sick of "FPS ballers" who use mods to achieve higher FPS for whatever reason.

I can't play most games at 60 anymore because I have been playing 144 for so long. 60 just feels jerky (yum) and generally terrible, the difference between 45 and 75 is easily noticeable, as is the difference between 60 and 144. People can think what they want. 144hz MASTERRACE!!!

What's wrong with FPS mods? I had to mod games to get the to run above 30 before I got my decent PC...

My monitor is a 27" 1080p, its huge for the desk.

I guess my GTX-650 is alright for this resolution.

Maybe I am just upset that I bought that card, where I could have spent an extra $100 and got something better a year or more ago.

When I play WoT I was getting ~20FPS on low settings with igpu on AMD 2-core system and its barely playable.

Different computer i5 4th gen igpu low settings I am getting well above 60FPS, medium I am getting ~25FPS.

I am used to no detail, or as the ballers spit "eye candy"

Yes that quote is correct. But its more along the lines of blowing tons of cash. I have NEVER played WoT on anything higher then medium at 25FPS.

Well, yeah. "smoothness" is always gonna improve with FPS (try playing at 10fps, then  25, then 30, then 60. Past 60? Not for most people, unless you have a great monitor and play competitive first person shooters where a target is there one frame and gone the next

I prefer Zork at 10fps vs 30. Minesweeper on the other hand is too much for my 1080 to handle.

I'm running Far Cry 4 at 40-50FPS on my R9 380 at 1080p on medium-high settings. I wouldn't really consider that hard to run, although maybe it's just because it's an older game.

I find I care more about stability than overall framerate. I'd rather play a game locked at 30fps than constantly bouncing around between 40-60. When your framerate fluctuates wildly like that it causes stuttering.

Obviously, the higher the framerate, the better the experience will be (to a certain degree), but having a consistent framerate will make the experience smoother overall.
