Xeon e3 1231 v3 issues. HELP ASAP

Hey all, just put in a new cpu (as listed above) ran into problems.

First, the system would not post at all. Then I tired removing just 1 of my 2 4GB RAM sticks.

After the first boot into the BIOS with the new CPU in, I shut down the computer and installed the RAM stick the I previously took out.

Now the system starts up for about 2-3 seconds and then shuts down and repeats the same thing over and over.

 Any suggestions?

Check your BIOS. The support page states that you need version 505 to use the CPU.

BIOS version is 2304. So just go to the support page and download and install the new bios?

You're on the right BIOS. In this case, I'd advise you to enter the BIOS and restore defaults.

still does the same thing after I put in the other 4gb stick of ram. Even after loading optimized defaults in the BIOS.

Does it not boot with the stick you took out only? Or does it?

both of them work fine. neither ram stick isn't working as it should.

So if both work, then your CPU or motherboard is probably defective. Try updating the BIOS, to be sure, though.

Check if everything works on the old CPU again. Did you drop the Xeon into the socket by any chance?
