Help with Compatibility

I'm deciding between the H5 Ultimate and Universal for my PC build. However, my RAM (Avexir Core Series - DDR4 - 2400 Blue) on Avexir's website, says that it's PCB height is 30mm and the dimensions show it is 4cm high. Since the H5 Ultimate only fits 30-35mm ram, I will have to go with the Universal right?

I'm talking about ram height. Not the ram itself.

Either H5 will not accomodate tall RAM

 

A similar CPU cooler that is compatible with RAM as tall as you like is the Thermalright Macho Direct (or any macho version for that matter)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

The universal doesn't have a ram limit. At least that's what it says on their website.

The Universal does not overhang the memory area on LGA1151. The Ultimate does. The fan is adjustable, but if I read the web site correctly only to allow 35mm memory clearance. Like the Hyper 212 EVO, the fan only overhangs the first memory slot. On most motherboards if one is only using two sticks of memory the second and fourth slots can be used instead of the first and third.

 

I have seen multiple heights reported for Avexir Core Series, anywhere from 37mm to 40mm.

 

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I'll go with the Universal then, as in the future I will probably upgrade my RAM.
