Good Over the ear headphones for under $200

Ahvulon

Guys what headphones would you recommend for under $200. I am looking for portable, comfortable, over the ear headphones that dont really stand out in public, not a determining factor...

I can recommend Creative Aurvana Live!

I've used them myself as portable headphones.

For me they were comfortable but you can always change pads on them (for example from HM-5).

Btw: you will plug them into cellphone or do you have some amp?

@Ahvulon So remember about impedance. High impedance headphones won't sound very good.

I'm sure you mean sensitivity right? Impedance doesn't actually determine how hard a pair of headphones would be to drive ;) (Plus harder to drive headphones would require an AMP.)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

@CameronDSetty Would you mind giving your opinion on why do you prefer the M40x over the m50x?

I just find that it has a better and more fun sound signature (its all a matter of opinion when it comes down to it though). The internet likes to claim that the m50x are neutral too, which they are not, and I really dont enjoy the in your ears sound that the m50x have. I like them more if they were at the same price not to mention that they are cheaper.

Higher impedance headphones are typically harder to drive.

Not necessarily as it's sensitivity that determines how hard a pair of headphones actually is to drive :D

Yes. I know impedance isn't everything. But it's very easy to determine which headphones are too powerful for mobile device with it.

But in a vast vast vast amount of the cases higher impedance hedaphones are harder to drive.

Get the Sony MDR 1A from amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-1A-Headphone-International-warranty/dp/B00NW353KE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473807452&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+mdr+1A

Under 200$. They look very sleek. They sound fantastic. They are extremely comfy and light.

You really can't go wrong with these.

I really don't recommend the M40x for comfort. But they block noise better, because they clamp your head harder.

ModHouseAudio Argons, not going to beat them for $200.

2nd runner up for me is M40X's, only headphone in that line thats worth a shit. not over extended like the m50's.
