Go to solution Solved by Megaburn,

Betternet, completely free but you cant choose your location, no banwidth limit either

Are there any good free VPN's? I need one to last about a week and needs to give me unlimited bandwidth. Whole point is to stop bandwidth throttiling

Edit: So tunnelbear won't cut it

Tunnel bear is reasonable good, they give you free 500mb of traffic per month.

500MB won't cut it for a 60GB download.

You can do both, it has a chrome plugin and a windows install which then applies it to everything connecting to the internet

Why do you need a VPN to download a 60GB file...

OP mentioned that he wanted to get around ISP throttling.

Uh...that's not how VPN works....

Your connection still goes through your ISP so your bandwidth and data are capped anyway.

I know that's not how it works. That's just the reason he gave.

Also, just to edit, a VPN in some cases can (operative word here--DPI can be a counteracting measure your ISP can use) help you get around your ISP throttling your network connection, especially high bandwidth things like Twitch, YouTube, and Netflix. You are right in that it won't get him around data caps and overage charges.

Why not just get a cheap VPS for like $10/year and install something like OpenVPN and use it?

I noticed it made a difference so I would say it helps stop throttling
