I kind of recommend a double 120mm RAD instead of the H80i, you'll get better temps for less money with almost any aircooler.

Get the H100i GTX, it's worth it. Especially if you plan OCing that beast.

As for the PSU you'll do just fine, rather have more headroom than too little. And the EVGA G2 750w is crazy good.

Build looks good, it's a monster.

1.Change that Corsair H80 as 120mm rad fans are not that good compared to similar priced air coolers, get a Noctua NH-D14,Cryorig H5

2.Id get a Samsung 850 Evo

3.Id get either a EVGA or MSI card since Asus sucks

4.750w is plenty, even 550w will work fine, but if you plan to OC and want more headroom in the future a high quality 750w one wont hurt

750W is overkill, 500W is fine. I wouldn't recommend AIO water as you can get high end air performing better for less. Since you are going for a red theme, I recommend looking at the MSI 1080 Gaming X as it is very red and will go with that motherboard well.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Unusually, not this time, their card has a triple fan cooler and the clock rates featured are higher than the MSI card. for once Asus has done decently

Actually, I would agree with that, I purchased an Asus 750 ti, which broke and I only got a refund after arguing about it for a month with customer service staff. i thought after all that time they would've pulled their game together.

The Display is a bad Choice in my Eyes. TN and only 60hz. 4k cost way too much performance and isnt worth it below 34". Go with the pg279q or xb271hu and you will enjoy real highend gaming.

Definitly get a 240mm rad like the H100i v2 if you wanna overclock your CPU

which I guess you plan on doing since you wanna buy the K version.

PSU seems fine imo as you wanna stay somewhere around 50-80% power usage

and with the 6700K and the 1080 under full load (which probably never happens but just in theory)

you will probably need somewhere around 550W for the system. You can go for a 650W PSU

which will overall be more efficient but the difference is rather small the 750W is more future proof

in case you wanna upgrade later on. It's up to you.

And regarding ASUS: well never had any problems with their products so I cant even argue about

the customer service. Currently using the 1080, Strix X99 and the PG279Q from them. No problems.

If you are willing to spend 50 bucks more on a SSD get the 850 EVO.

Would you guys recommend i spend ~$25 more on the Asus Z170 PRO GAMING to get SLI and the ASUS excellent fan control system?

If you have plans of upgrading in the future go for it. Even if you dont plan as of now it's at least future proof in that regard.

Why?

You are paying a premium to have the best card.  Realistically, the 1070 vs the 1080 in the experience of playing a game is not worth the premium for the 1080.  The 1070 will provide high frame rates in any game on the market.

It is up to you.

So your saying a monitor upgrade is more worthwhile than a GPU upgrade?

My opinion is that the monitor is the most important choice to make. As already said, a 4K monitor that is too small makes everything on screen very small, and a bigger 4K monitor is very expensive.

Personally I already have a 4K TV so I will use that as my monitor and choose my components accordingly. It makes it more expensive but...

If you use a regular PC monitor and you're sitting close to it, a 1440p or widescreen 1440p makes more sense.

So my advice is for a 1440p monitor get a gtx1070 and if you get a widescreen 1440p go for 1070 sli or a single gtx1080.

Love not hate

How exactly is the RX 480 better than the GTX 1080?

Also a 120mm rad for a 6700K isnt really the best option since you lose out on a lot of performance.

Just investing 40 bucks more into a 240mm rad is the best option.

And in case he goes with the 1080 I would go with either a 1440p or 4K monitor.

Otherwise why even get the 1080? In case he stays with 1080p the monitor is good and he would need at most a 1070.

Other than that the build looks fine.
