1500€ Gaming Rig - what you think?

X_Splinter

Hey guys, I am new to forum. I have been PC playing since I bought my gaming laptop Asus ROG G75VW nearly 4 years ago. I feel the need to update and no longer need it to be moveable so I am building a desktop.

- Budget: around 1500€

- More than 1080p of resolution (1440p sounds good to me)

- I am using Amazon France as my source

My blueprint is this one:

What you guys think of it? Any recommendations?

By the way do I need to buy a Wifi card or it comes with the board?

Looks really good to me but consider getting a 120hz or 144 hz monitor (1080p) because the 1070 can easily handle more games at those frame rates.

Thanks for the replies guys, 2 questions:

Does the i7 6700 really worthy the extra 100€ for gaming?

The air cooler is enought for overclocking?

Get a better PSU. And if you go for 1080p, you should go 144Hz. The 1070 can easy handle that. I would recommend you a complete different Monitor Type, but i guess you are out of Money?

Overall a nice Maschine. ^_^

I guess that PSU must suck, I know nothing about Power suplies to be honest.

I am not sure about that monitor too, it's a 21:9 1080p screen, (Not sure 21:9 is good for gaming)

I was thinking maybe a 16:9 1440p for an extra 100€ like this one Asus PB258Q IPS

What is the maximum Budget you can spend on the Monitor?

If you are only going for gaming the 6600K is your best option atm

If you wanna go future proof the 6700K is your best option

More than enough. You could probably get a cheaper one like the H100i v2 if you are going with the 6600K.

I would get a different PSU.

Options would be something like:

XFX TS 550

XFX XTR 550

Seasonic G 550

Corsair RMx 550

to name a few that should be below 100€

Also is there a need for 480GB SSD? Wouldnt a 240GB SSD + 1TB HDD be better?

Thank for the reply. As for options I'll go for the XFX TS 650

I did made some changes on the setup:

- 240 SSD + 1TB HDD

- Got a pre-owned 4K monitor Asus PB287QB

- End up getting a Z170A M7 (cheaper than M5 in Amazon FR)

It's going to the 1750€ or 1800€ but it will be worthy
