if your not going to overclock you can get cheap motherboards for like 40 or 50$ depending on your CPU and socket needs.

depends on the socket and the chipset but $80 or more probably, i got my Z97 board for $80

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Get the cheapest LGA 1151 board that has DDR4. That's the right mobo for you, it seems. Unless you want to pay for extra features, they'll all be the exact same thing.

i would not suggest doing that, rather, get the budget solution from a reputable brand like asus, gigabyte, msi.

No need to worry about that. 9/10 the cheapest is going to be from a good brand. It's rare for ECS or Biostar to be the cheapest one available, at the very least on Skylake.
