forgot standoffs what now

i built my self a server and forgot to do standoffs but have little foam pads on the bottom and the pc is running good .... can i leave it as it is or do i need to go and fix it?

go and fix it, next time you need to plug in something you could break the board or "something"

I left a couple of mine off, still running fine for over a year, and I didn't have foam

I'd suggest fixing it, the standoffs are there to keep the motherboard away from the metal behind it so nothing shorts out.

I'd fix it personally.... not that big of a deal to unplug some leads etc as compared to having to buy a few pieces that have shorted out and then having to rebuild it anyway.

mobo standoffs have wierd squares connected to the wholes for the standoffs any ideas?

Are you talking about the solder points?

Because those are for grounding.

no like where u would put a stand off there is a square that connects to the stand off hole ...... my case is xw8400 if u wanna take a look
