Just completed my new build on pcpartpicker. Can anyone give me some feedback on specs. I made a post previously that this will be primarily used for 3D Modelling / Rendering, Editing and Streaming (Maya, 3DS Max, Cinema4D, Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, OBS etc). I wanted something that can handle any app i throw it at without issue. I think this build does that comfortably.

I may add some more ram further down the line, 32GB seems a decent start. I chose an 8GB GPU to support Maya/Cinema4D and last some time. The only thing i have not included is a sound card, but i don't think i will really need it? (Not at the moment anyway). Do i really need to put in a sound card? As long as i am able to get some sound some way then i'm not overly bothered.

I went a little over budget (£800 over xD), so if anyone thinks i have done anything on overkill for what i want it to do (or i should be including anything else), let me know, this is my entire build so plan to order all in one. As i said, i wanted something that will last and generally be a beast.

Let me know what you guys think.

A soundcard isn't really needed unless you have some decent headphones to start with.

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

You don't need a sound card. Consider getting your CPU/GPU from CEX, they'll give you a 2 year warranty. I've had 2 CPUs from there, which both work flawlessly.

EDIT: And you only need 650W at the most.

Main Gaming Rig:

Spoiler

Core i7-4770, Cryorig M9i Cooler, ASUS B85M GAMER, 8GB HyperX Fury Red 2x4GB 1866MHz, KFA2 GTX 970 Infin8 Black Edition "4GB", 1TB Seagate SSHD, 256GB Crucial m4 SSD, 60GB Corsair SSD for Kerbal and game servers, Thermaltake Core V21 Case, EVGA SuperNOVA 650W G2.

Secondary PC:

Spoiler

i5-2500k OCed, Raijintek Themis, Intel Z77GA-70K, 8GB HyperX Genesis in grey, GTX 750 Ti, Gamemax Falcon case.
