My gaming computer has:

16GB RAM

4790 i7

GTX 660

 

What graphics card should I get to upgrade?

Best value for 1080@60: GTX 1060 6GB or RX 470 4GB (do NOT buy the 8GB model)

Best value for 1440@60: GTX 1070 8GB or RX 480 8GB

Best value for 2160@60: GTX 1080 8GB with AA turned down.

Budget? If those are the two main games you play, an RX 460 would be plenty as they are not very intensive (470 if you want to pay a little more).

Technically its not a Crime if hes only playing at 1080p 60HZ if he doesent want to upgrade his monitor to a higher resolution or refresh rate. AMD GPU's are high end buddy, they are capable of 1080p ultra 60-75hz gaming now.
