So this is probably only my second or third (not sure) time posting something on the forums but I thought I'd share what my dream PC would be. It's a gaming/editing rig. So, here it is.
 

Parts;
Case: Corsair Obsidian 900D - $440
PSU: Corsair AX1200i Digital ATX Modular Power Supply - $440
Motherboard: MSI Big Bang X-Power II - $450
CPU: Intel Core i7 4960X Extreme Edition - $1,210
Gaming GPU: Geforce GTX Titan (EVGA Superclocked model) - $1,300
Editing GPU: NVIDIA QUADRO K6000 - $4,040
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsZ F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL (64GB (8x8GB. Quad Channel) - $720
SSD: Corsair Neutron Series GTX 240GB SSD - $290
HDD: Seagate Enterprise Capacity 4TB (x2 or more) - $480 ($960 for 2)
Optical Drive: ASUS BW-16D1HT-PRO 16x Blu Ray Burner - $120
Total: $9,970
 
Cooling;
Custom Water Loop (parts TBD) - $?
 
Other Stuff;
Monitor: ASUS PA248Q 24in IPS LED Widescreen Monitor (x4 for NVIDIA 3D vision Surround (in 2D)) - $410 ($1,640 for 4)
DVI Adaptor: Astrotek DisplayPort to DVI Adaptor - $30
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Zx - $180
Speakers: Creative Inspire T6300 5.1 Surround Speaker System - $90
Total: $1,940
 
Grand Total: $11,910

All the prices are in AUD and rounded up to the nearest $10.
Now, notice that under cooling, the parts are to be decided? That's where I need a bit of help. Can anyone tell me what I need? I'd have anything and everything water cooled (aside from HDD/SSD) if I can. I'm not afraid of the cost. After all, it is a DREAM PC.

Also, if anyone else has a dream PC list, I'd like them to share it. It might give me some ideas.

GPU: ATI RAGE 16mb card

MOBO: Some MSI mobo

RAM: 64mb kingston SDRAM

HDD: 8gb WD hdd
OPT: CD-RW (lmao so expensive)

Sound: Soundblaster Live!

RES: 800x600

CASE: ATX size beige (so sexy ikr)
PSU: 250w psu

 

Nah but frill doe: (just off the top of my head btw, no research)

CPU: 4960x
GPU: GTX 780 (two of them)
MOBO: Asus Rampage
RAM: 64gb corsair dom

case: NZXT Phantom (full tower)
HDD: (add as many hdds and sdds as you want here)

Cooling: Custom loop
OPT: Blu Ray RW
SOUND: Asus xonar
RES: 4k

My new dream PC would have the new Ivy Bridge-EP Xeon E5-2697 V2's, 12 hyperthreaded cores each, I think that will do nicely :)

I built the craziest thing I could in PCpartpicker. Almost 25K (It could be more, but I only went with 2TB of SSD memory and can't add custom watercooling in the website) Enjoy!

Potential Issues/Incompatibilities
  • icon_warning_sgl.gifEVGA 270-WS-W555-A2 HPTX LGA1366 Motherboard and Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition 3.47Ghz 6-Core Processor are not compatible.

this sounds more like "the most expensive parts I can find and put together" PC.

 

the dream PC should have more character like some mods to the case. or some thing you had from your first build. or some thing that reflects who you are.

why triple titan? Y u no quad titan?

quad has 5 times more problems than triple. but if you have the money

corsair 950d case with an asus z9pe-d8 ws motherboard, 2x exon e5-2687 cpu's 64gb 2300Mhz momery, 3way sli titans, custom 24 port sata-3 raid card with 24x 1tb ssd's, 2x corair AX1200i psu's, 4x 4tb WD red's in raid (maybe an ext nas). full custom water cooling. maybe a twin loop with some nice bay res. go for a red and blue colour scheme....... i'm going to stop there :)
