Hi,

About a week and a half ago. I built my new PC. All was fine, untill today i used to hit around 100fps on GTAV on high settings, now i'm only hitting around 20-30fps. I dont know why, i rolled back the drivers, i updated them. Same problem. Could i please get some help

Which drivers are you on now?

Are you monitoring GPU usage through something like GPU-Z, and are clock speeds stable?

I'm not sure on what i am on now but i havent checked clock speeds either but why should i as yesterday it was all fine?..

You should check because if your GPU isn't hitting the clock speeds it should then we know why you're getting lower FPS, and can start trying to help fix it. You should also check your drivers because some are more stable than others, and they can make a big difference.

Right click desktop > AMD Radeon Settings > System information (top right of page).

That will tell you your driver version.

The core on CPU-z ranges from like 300mhz minimum some times.

Maybe load the GPU with something so it's not just idling? :D

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Try and gather data from a gaming scenario though. What your GPU does when it isn't under duress is of little help for solving your problems.

I loaded The Forest on high settings.

Load is fluctuating but clock speeds aren't.

Revert to earlier drivers, see if that makes a difference. You're using the latest drivers which I don't think are particularly good.

Ohhh...now I see it...

You NEED to run your games on FULL SCREEN.

Not Borderless.

Not Windowed Mode.

I can see in your GIF that TheForest is running on Windowed Mode.

The GPU had several power states stored in the vBIOS.

Full screen will cause the GPU to run at 3D speeds / maximum frequencies.

If you use any other setting (or then full screen), you will encounter the problem you are seeing, where the GPU will fluctuate between high-performance 3D, and 2D/idle power states.

How does one launch up a game in full screen and check the speed because i dont have two monitors.
