He guys!

So lately I've noticed some bad lagging after I have booted up my pc (i7, GTX1070, 8GB RAM, Windows on SSD).

So whenever I turn on my pc and I've logged in, my mouse starts lagging for 10-15 secs which makes my pc unusable for 10-15 secs. Also typing in Chrome takes a while to make the letters appear.

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

You probably have lots of startup processes. Go to task manager and disable any you don't need.

Only 5 enabled.

Can you open up task manager at boot and see what is using up all the resources?

Sure, will try it now.

Nothing is being used 100%.

maybe the keyboard and mouse lag is from the time it takes your keyboard/mouse drivers to start

Could be it, they are both controllable with the Logitech software.

could you post a screenshot of the "Performance" tab in task manager?

Should look something like this;

yes, right when it's actually lagging, else it's not really worth it, it really has to be when it's lagging (to catch whatever is responsible of the lag).

But, whenever you open Task manager > Performance and look at CPU usage, I always peaks to 100% for like 1 sec

that's not what I'm looking for, if the PC is already struggling, it's normal to see 100% spikes.

Take a screenshot when the PC lags, but not right the second you open the task manager. ;)

Could be Malware, Malware will normally increase your Random Access Memory and CPU usage to the max.

Or your power supply might not be able to handle all that power, slowing down the computers performance.

Max power draw from wall (monitor included) is 345watts, so even with monitor included, my pc draws less than the 600W PSU.

ok, that's what I was suspecting, if you check Disk 2 you see it's at 34% usage right after boot, so it really seems it's something during your startup.

I've usually only seen lags like this when it's the OS drive being accessed heavily.

Go into the startup tab and disable everything to see if it still does it, let me know how it goes and we could investigate further after that!
