Im picking up a cpu during birthday/christmas and my budget is 150-250 and I need a motherboard aswell cause I have a AM3 mobo rn. PC Specs- 750ti, AMD A10 6700 APU, ASUS M11BB, 8GB single channel-800 MHz

I think your best bet would be an i5-6500 and a cheap mobo that supports DDR3L Ram, and then undervolt DDR3 RAM.

Went with Haswell instead of Skylake so you don't have to change your RAM to DDR4.

I have a 212 Evo, would it be worth it to upgrade to a 6600k? And does anyone have a idea as to the overclockabliity of said chip on a 212? What might I expect from it with the 212

A 212 Evo would work well with a 6600k, but once you hit that point I highly recommend getting a more decent mobo (around $100) to OC/keep more stable, and with that would require you to upgrade to DDR4 ram, so I'd avoid that unless you can afford the whole package.

I would argue that a 6600K is over budget because it's $230 + $100 for a mobo + $35 for DDR4 RAM = $365

If you have everything else like DDR3, GPU, and PSU, I'd go with an i5 or Xeon and LGA1150 mobo.

I play CS:GO, Leauge Fo4, Rust and thats it cause my cpu takes a dump on my 750ti. Gpu can run rust pretty ok but I have a amd a10 6700 and it is really bottlenecking. FeelsBadMan. If i could it would be more like witcher 3 and stuff.
