Philips has been making 40+" UHD monitors for years, and they have just revealed the latest model of this line of monitors, the BDM4037UW.

BDM4037UW is a 40" monitor. Different from its predecessor, it is a curved monitor, with a 3000R curve. And its has a resolution of 3860x2160, a bit different from the 3840x2160 resolution of the other UHD screen (some sites listed the resolution as 3840x2160) . According to PCMonitor.info, it could have a curved VA panel from TPV, with a 4ms response time, 4000:1 static contrast ratio, 10-bit color support, a viewing angles of 178°/178°, a refresh rate of 23Hz to 80Hz, and flicker-free WLED backlight. It also supports Philips' own UltraColor Technology, which said it would offer deeper and more vivid colors. Full 100% sRGB color gamut coverage was supported, along with 85% NTSC gamut coverage. In addition, it has a which PCMonitor.info described as "a crescent-like foot", with 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting.

It has 1 HDMI 2.0 port (with MHL), 1 HDMI 1.4 port (with MHL), 2 DP 1.2 inputs, VGA, 3.5mm audio input, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 4 port USB 3.0 hub on the back, with two integrated 5W speakers. It also supported PiP and PbP (4-way). Unfortunately adaptive-sync was not listed in the product page, according to source.

The product page is currently offline, but PCMonitor.info suggested that this monitor will make its debut on IFA 2016. Price and release date is still unknown at this moment.

" a refresh rate of 23Hz to 80Hz"
How are they going to acheive an 80hz refresh rate??

I thought 60hz was the theoretical limit until the new displayport protocol comes out?

Higher frame rate over higher resolution.

it could be the horizontal refresh rate. (which is always faster) but ya 60hz is the theoretical bandwidth limit of the cable, at that res.

I didn't think of horizontal refresh, that makes more sense.

Hang on, 23hz to 80hz? How are they achieving 23? Or this just some marketing bullshit and 23hz is really 46 hz?

Started googling, a year ago or so on this forum when I expressed my wish that all Freesync and G-sync monitors would have their lowest refreshrate be at least 24 (but lower is even better), I was told that it wasn't possible for LCD's to go lower than arround 30 to 35. At the time I found information supporting that, so I've been thinking that was a fact, until now.
Now when I search, I found information saying that LCD's do not have a lower limit, and 24hz should be fine.

I'm confused.
