I have a 4 years old dell xps 17 with a gpu of GT 555m. I keep getting driver updates from Nvidia and I encountered a stability issue in my previous update (372.54). should I update my driver or just ignore the updates from now on. I am currently running windows 10(anniversary). thank you in advance.

Try the newest drivers, if that doesn't work roll back to the last one that did, eventually they will likely fix the issue.

thanks I updated to a new driver (372.70) and its perfectly fine. but one question is it really necessary to update my driver. my graphics card is to damn old and I find no significant improvements in each driver update

I honestly never update a graphics card driver except if i play new games. I rarely or never have driver crashes
