10x sata on sigle molex ?

keja

hello,

I need to power 5 boards with 1 molex each, and each board powers two SATA drives.

So i was thinking of just buying a splitter with 6 times molex and cut the last one of as i only need 5, but im not sure if it is a great idea to run 10 drives of a single cable.. (heat)

how many drives do you think i can run on a single cable?, i would like to get as few cables as possible ofc :)

The disks are mixed in brands and sizes (9 HDD and 1 SSD)

My PSU have 4 x 6pin to molex, so i can run up to 4 cables and the 12V rail has 36A/432W

bonus question where to get good and long 6 pin to molex cables from?

Thanks :)

sata does not provide power..

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.
