New 4k Gaming setup/ x4 860k for 4k/8k

KingGamer

Hello
,

I was thinking about moving to 4k/ 8k and wanted to know

1.Which Freesync/gSync monitor u would recommend me (60hz minimum 4k)

2.Which Gpu would u recommend me/ If a gtx titan P is worth it now, or wait for vega

3.I just saw a video  from a guy who paired an i5 from 2009 ( i5 750) with a gtx 1080 and at 4k it was no bottleneck at all(over 25% advantage over the gtx 980 with an i7 4790k), so i want to know if an x4 860k would be enough for 4k gaming

This is my build( now its a great deal, but i bought it at a bad time....)

AMD is generally bad for gaming. Get intel cpu. You will not get 60 fps with that graphics card

do you even look at the benchmarks of amd cpu and intel cpu? Also, you can't play game at 4k with r9 270.

What are you talking about? AMD cant offer anything that can get even near 4K (we dont touch the 295x2). Intel and NVIDIA is the only way at the moment.

2. Sli 1080 / wait for 1080ti / if you don't need it now wait for Vega and compare

3. You know what a cpu bottleneck is right? It's when the cpu is 100% so videocard is outputting less frames, making it slower. The tests must have been on games like tomb raider where a strong cpu is almost not needed. The i5 750 is probably weaker than a pentium today but dont quote me

At least GTX 1070 or GTX 980ti.

You wont max out every game with these but you can definitely play most games on 60FPS without AA on high settings.

You will definetly need SLI GTX 1080 to get steady 60+ FPS in 4K if you want to run all settings maxed.

1080 is best for 4K, although 1070 has some capability if playing at high instead of maxed settings.

GTX 1080 for 4K gaming. Ideally you would want 2 x 1080's or the Titan X Pascal/ 1080 ti (When it comes out). Don't even think of pairing any of these cards with an X4 860K though.

Some games need a good CPU (currently only Intel) to run smoothly.

A GTX 1080 costs $700.

A decent 4K monitor is expensive too.

Do you have the money for a new PC?

Gtx 1070 can get 60 fps in a lot of games with mid~high setting, but 1080 would be best for 4k gaming, and titan xp is not meant for gaming, it's for workstation. is is more than twice the price of 1080.

Was the CPU running at 5ghz (or some other ridiculous overclock) by any chance?

the titan xp is your best bet for single GPU 4k gaming. though you'll still have to drop some visual settings
