Should i buy a new laptop, or a htc vive?

hi, so i have been saving for a while and would like to make a large tech purchase. i currently have: a gaming pc with a gtx 1070, i5 6500 8gb ram

a laptop for school and light gaming i3 4005u, gt 740m, 8gb ram

my laptop has become quite slow recently and i want it to do more things like video edit.

i have had my eye on this dell insparon linus reviewed a while ago : https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015PYYDMQ/ref=twister_B01G2LDNDQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

although i would also love an HTC VIVE, ive been wanted one ever since release and im not sure what to get, any help would be great. thanks.

Since VR is a really different experience then a faster laptop, I would go for the Vive.

Maybe wait a few months and see how the Oculus Rift compares when its Touch controllers are out. It may be a better buy than the Vive.

Mwell, Oculus is funding a lot of developers making VR games. That's quite important at this point, where for most devs it otherwise doesn't financially make sense to do VR.
