I got new peripherals finally.

I had Genius GX Gaming Imperator Pro keyboard (dat name)... it was really big, comfortable and good for gaming but typing on that thing was nightmare. It was membrane keyboard as every keyboard I had before it.

For mouse I had Genius GX Gaming Gila which was really awesome mouse and it is hard to move on but after 3 years of heavy use a lot of issues started to appear. Scroll wheel was skipping, left mouse was double clicking on its own sometimes and sensor was sometimes doing whatever it wanted.

So I decided to pick up my first mechanical keyboard CM Storm Ultimate with Cherry MX Blue switches and for mouse I got Logitech G502 Spectrum.

Typing on this keyboard is awesome. I like the blue switches and the fact that this keyboard is a lot smaller but it is loud as hell. My friends on Skype were definitely not happy with my new keyboard. So I got O-rings from eBay for basically free and it made the keyboard a lot bearable to listen to.

To be frank however... I don't think that mechanical keyboard are as awesome as people make it seem. Too much overhyped. They are definitely great..Just not €115 great IMO. But oh well... I had some extra money so I went with it. I am happy with it.

Mouse... I am still trying to get used to it. The accuracy of sensor is definitely noticeable and great improvement over the Gila mouse I had before. But I find the side buttons too easy to press. I keep accidentally pressing them all the time. Also I think the button layout was a lot better on Gila. The scroll wheel on G502 however is something else... such a joy to use it. The software for this mouse is great as well.

All in all I am really happy with my new toys. Not really a big reason why I am typing all of this..especially from my phone (oh yes.. killing time in work). Some of you may be interested in my opinion maybe? Sorry for mistakes.

some mech boards are $40

I know. I just had few requirements that this keyboard has and the $40 don't.

Also I was able to try all Cherry switches in store before so I knew what to go for. Before trying I was convinced that browns are my type..after trying I know they are not.

If I went with one of these $40 ones I don't know if I would end up liking it as those usually have different switches which I could not try.

yeah lol. Parts are cheaper.

Usually yes but it depends. You also don't include VAT in your pricing and we do (20%).

For example one of LG ultra wide monitors at launch was $1100 (no VAT) in US but only €750 here (20% VAT included).

But yes.. 80% of time you get things cheaper.
