Which 1070 is better?

It's all about the amount of power phases the card has mainly. More power phases has more reliable power delivery to the gpu. Theoretically better for overclocking. But again, the difference is negligable because almost all aftermarket 1070s get 2000mhz and maybe a bit more.

The EVGA ones look like they'll go well with white. It's not fully white but don't forget they have customisable RGB LEDs. So maybe white LEDs on a fully white card might be to much white. All personal taste though.

Just go with a reliable brand and what you can cheaper. Can't go wrong with this gen cards generally!

Which one is better?

Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1

or

GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0

I like the Evga FTW but that feature of the fans that don't spin when its idle uhmmm Idk, I don't like that stuff, had bad experiences with the Corsair RM series which does the same thing

What's your thought?

because i really like Gigabyte i would say G1 but there wont be much of a differance in what you pick anyway so its mainly what you can afford and what you like the look of tbh

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

The difference is negligible. In my opinion, most air cooled 1070 variants perform the same under normal circumstances. Do you have a color scheme? Maybe go with what goes better with that.

The zero rpm fan thing is fine. My MSI 1070 has it and works great. Although the fans are pretty quiet at like 30-50% speed anyway.

I'm glad you mentioned this.

Yes I have everything in White, ram, cables, fans, lights etc

My very first option was the Asus Dual but didn't found many reviews so I looked to the gigabyte and evga instead

more power phases, tho that dosent really matter much untill you go with something better then an air cooler usiually

I see, then I think the Evga FTW is the winner here, (for me atleast) I don't have any complaints about evga, and if it works with the white theme good then

You're comparing the company with the absolute best customer service (EVGA) to the company with the absolute worst customer service (Gigabyte).

Literally the exact opposite ends of the spectrum, also Gigabyte has by far the cheapest feeling Pascal cards too.

EVGA wins by as much as anything possibly could in this scenario.

Thank you guys, it is all clear now seems like the Evga FTW version is the real winner here, now I have to decide if buy the 1070 now? or wait until the 1080 price goes down

I wouldn't count on the 1080's price going down any time soon unless AMD comes outta nowhere with a competing card this year.

No, no, no. Don't put Gigabyte in the likes of Asus when it comes to bad customer service. Not to mention customer service isn't all a card provides. You have to consider build, reliability and aesthetic. Also after the 970 SC fiasco EVGA had I wouldn't put them at the top of customer service anymore.

First build every: Intel Core i7 4790K, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard, Kingston HyperX FURY 1866 2x8 16GB Kit, Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming, Corsair Obsidian 450D Black ATX Mid Tower, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & 3TB Toshiba HDD, EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2, Corsair H100i GTX 240mm, Gigabyte Bluetooth 4.0/Wifi Card, Logitech G700S. Running on Windows 10

Surface Pro 3: i5 4300U with 8GB of ram and 256GB SSD. Running Windows 10 Pro

Gigabyte has the worst build quality, and ugliest most plastic 1070's money can buy. Their reliability is garbage too if the low cost cutting build quality is any indicator.

My Gigabyte 1070 arrived with faulty fans and is the cheapest feeling product I have ever held in my hands.

I returned it to NewEgg and got an MSI 1070 and won't ever go back.

The customer service horror stories with Gigabyte on forums and reddit have been crazy the last few months, fuck them as a company and I'll never buy anything from them again.

Asus can have bad customer service, but at least their cards are built with things like metal and actually feel and look well built.

Gigabyte may have been fine with 970's which I see you have, but they have become by far the absolute worst with their Pascal options.

I'd say the EVGA by far look and feel the cheapest and are absolutely HIDEOUS. They took a huge step back with their new cooler design. MSI has great build quality but I hate the early 2000's red and black color scheme.

Asus is known for having shit cards for the last two generations and are by FAR the worst card manufacturer. I thought Asus would turn it around but all I've heard is new cards coming with broken fans/shrouds and horrid RMA and customer service. They make great motherboards but fuck their graphics cards. Gigabyte is MILES better than them.
